XM Satellite Radio and CBS Network News/Westwood One purchase the Scoop E-Z

Randolph, NJ-

XM Satellite Radio purchased the Scoop E-Z and Scoop Studio Pots/GSM codecs to broadcast there live feeds for their new Major League Baseball channel. The units will be used in Pots mode at various major league venues and the GSM will act as a back up. Ed Schwartz Vice President of Broadcast Engineering at XM had this comment on the Scoop. “ For the convenience of features everyone felt the Scoop E-Z was better and that the built-in phantom powering was a major plus.”

CBS Network News/Westwood One also purchased the Scoop E-Z and Scoop Studio POTS/ISDN/GSM units. The units were used at the Academy Awards, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction and in Rome to cover Pope John Paul II funeral. Craig Swagler, special events managing producer for CBS Network Radio News had this to say about the Scoop E-Z performance. “ We used the Scoop E-Z for the Academy Awards on February 27th in order to feed a clean feed of the backstage audio. I have to say it sounded better than two competitive units. It held the connection for the night. We also used the unit at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction for the same purpose.” The units will be used with their high-end reporters to cover major events in the USA and international.
